Hotdog Rolls to End the Night
these rolls could've been gone for the night if I hadn't packed some for tomorrow!
After all that snacking on fish crackers, sambal tapioca chips, toblerone chocolates, tubs of ice-cream and cokes. I STILL felt hungry. So lesson learnt - Snacking is NOT the way to go when you don't have a proper meal for the day! But, who cares for a proper meal when you're lazing in front of the teevee for a movie huh???!
Neeways... off to the kitchen I went to come up with something. And so I did. With what I have in the kitchen (as usual), I made Hotdog Rolls. We had nothing but bread the whole day as something propah, so I thought we'd finish the day with bread too. No reason being, just a coincidence. winks*
Besides, it's a fantastic way to show-off your skills (beams*) and better even for snacking! This'll be a good breakfast treat for tomorrow too. IF I'm not be able to wake up in time for it, then these'll be push forward as lunch.
the before and after process
Ingredients for Hotdog Rolls
10 hotdogs - boiled
250g of AP flour
1/2 pkt instant yeast
1 tbsp coffeemate
50g castor sugar
3/4 tbsp condense milk
3/4 tbsp butter
125ml warm water
1 egg
extra virgin olive oil - glaze
Method
Put all except hotdogs into a bowl and knead for 20 minutes. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside till it rose to 2x its size. Give it a punch to let the air out. Pinch a little dough and roll into a ball. Roll the dough into a long strip and twirl around the boiled hotdog. Brush extra virgin olive oil on top of it and sprinkle some sesame seeds. Bake @ 180'C for 20 minutes or till it browned. Let it cool a bit before gorging them all down!

A little dip of the Thai Chilli sauce did the trick for me for these late night snacks. You dip into whatever you feel fine with.
