Quiche Lorraine
First the need for appetiser. Brie Onion & Herbs on cheese crackers. Me Quiche Lorraine
Hah... did my first Quiche! Wasn't that hard. Just need to tweak the filling a witsy bit. Need more flavour. I wanted to use bacon but couldn't get any and substituted with hotdogs. Should have dash more of the Serendipity seasoning. Anyways I devoured the lot while watching "Zenna-Disney Channel".
Ingredients for Quiche crust
1 cup flour - sifted
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup whole milk (substitution from heavy cream)
Mix all with a fork and roll. Place onto baking tray. Blind bake 15 minutes @ 180'C.
Ingredients for Quiche fillings (A)
3 eggs - beat
1 cup whole milk
Dried oregano
Serendipity salt (normal salt ok too)
Crushed black pepper
Ingredients for Quiche fillings (B)
2 hotdogs - sliced
onion - diced
garlic - diced
(A) Saute onion and garlic. A pinch of salt to taste. Add in hotdogs and put aside.
(B) Add whole milk into beaten eggs. Add in dried oregano, crushed black pepper and Serendipity salt. Mix well.
Put (A) onto base of semi-cooked crust. Pour (A) into the crust. Bake 30-35 minutes till browned mid rack @ 200'C.

I had some chicken wings leftover and marinated the lot with lotsa dried herbs i.e. oregano, rosemary, thyme and parsley and a dash of salt and extra virgin olive oil. A balanced meal for the night... errr I think so...
